About this event

Nuclear Medicine Metrology meeting (incorporating radionuclide calibrators user forum).

CARM is the latest in a series of annual 3-day conferences run by NPL for the nuclear metrology community, bringing together expertise from areas as diverse as the nuclear industry, detector manufacturers, radioanalytical laboratories and academia.

One day of the meeting is dedicated to discussing the challenges and needs of metrology in nuclear medicine. The goal of the session is to solicit feedback from the user community, identifying measurement needs and how these can be supported by NMIs. Context for this discussion will be provided by presentations on current advances in the application of metrology from primary standards to patient imaging and dosimetry applications, with a focus on improving accuracy in patient diagnosis, staging and therapy.

The meeting will also include presentations on the recent advances in underlying science in the fields of nuclear decommissioning, environmental monitoring and emergency preparedness following a radiological incident. There will be a workshop dedicated to future nuclear energy (fusion, modular and Gen IV reactors) and CARM will incorporate meetings of the IRMF and ARMUG.

There will be a call for papers and a commercial exhibition, and the CARM meeting is a great opportunity to keep up-to-date on progress in nuclear metrology sphere and to network with colleagues across a wide range of sectors.

If you wish to submit an abstract for consideration as a poster or oral paper, please e-mail Ben Russell ben.russell@npl.co.uk by Friday 13th December. n.b. If you wish the abstract to be considered for the IRMF sessions, please mark it ‘IRMF’. These abstracts will be forwarded to the IRMF committee.
